I would like any information on the material properties of Kevlar. I would also like the thermo conductivity of kevlar.  I really appreciate any info.

RE: material properties of Kevlar

Kevlar is the trade name by DuPont (http://www.dupont.com) for an aramid fiber.  You can search matweb (www.matweb.com) for kevlar and come up with about 68 results.

You can also look up MIL-HDBK-17 for composite information, but the version I have does not have any data on aramid fibers.

RE: material properties of Kevlar

In DuPonts Folder Titled "Kevlar in Mechanical rubber Goods, Technical Database" it list the thermal conductivity of Kevlar as 0.04 Joule/(sec.cm^2.K.cm)this compares with 0.23 and 0.15 quoted for Nylon and Polyester, respectively. It also gives the general comment that "the thermal conductivity of Kevlar is much lower than that of other organic fibres.
