CE requirement for software.

CE requirement for software.

(OP)
Hello,
My company is into lighting automation control equipment and the control is via a software package that the installer needs to set the system with. Does this software piece need to be translated to the end user's language? I am aware that the installation guide/instruction manual needs to get translated but have no idea on the software part of it.
Any input will be highly appreciated.

RE: CE requirement for software.

If the installer is trained by your company to provide installation and if you do not want the end user to mess with the software do not traslate the information. You are only required to translate information that would inhibit the safe use of the equipment and it is up to the manufacture to decide what details are needed for the safe use of their equipment. Just keep in mind that if someone does get hurt because the manufacture left out important safety facts the manufacture is liable.

If the installer is the end user and is not trained by your company then you have to translate.
