S-N Curve for Phosphor Bronze

S-N Curve for Phosphor Bronze

Doing Fatigue analyisis on a part made out of Phosphor Bronze, but I can't find an S-N curve for this material.

RE: S-N Curve for Phosphor Bronze

The ASM (asm-intl.org) has a lot of literature, dealing with materials characterization including fatigue limits.

RE: S-N Curve for Phosphor Bronze

I had the same problem with another material for which there is no S-N data. The answer is to refer to BS5500, the pressure vessel code where it refers to The Effect of Material using the ratio of the Young's Modulus of steel to the material you are using so that N=A(22/e)^m/4(Sx2.09e5/E)^-m where e is the plate thickness and E  is the Young's Modulus of the material you are using. Use the values of A and m depending on the weld category. How reliable this is for all materials - who knows.
