Alternator With Through Shaft

(OP)
Anyone know of an alternator with a shaft coming out of both ends of the case?? I heard something about a Hitachi excavator. Diesel industrial motor? Trying to track one down.

RE: Alternator With Through Shaft

This type of design used mostly in the 1980's on automotive diesel applications. The thru shaft was used to drive a vacuum pump. your local automotive junk yard should have this alternator. Ford,gm,mit, hitachi ... ect they all had this system installed on there automotive diesel vehicles.
