Hi all,
I am trying to find design information on single plane style V8 manifolds. Specifically, the effect of plenum volume when runner length stays constant on a port injected application. Does increased volume raise the RPM point of VE? What is the relationship of runner volume as compared to plenum volume? Is there a mathmatical model for determining this or a good source of information?
Also what changes should be made to a TPI style intake when utilizing one of the different forms of forced induction. I am under the impression that good naturally aspirated TPI style intake design will work well for forced induction applications as well. Is this correct?

Dookie,

Intake manifolds can get tricky if youre very serious but in general there are a few basic rules.  

You must remember that youre dealing with both acoustics and inertia effects in intake manifolds and the reason for the word 'tuning' is exactly that...you can only design a manifold to work well at one operating condition, so choose it wisely, and it will be tuned to your requirements.

more information is easily available in more advanced engineering textbooks on engine breathing etc but unless u consider variable length intakes youre stuck with one operating point.

good luck and consider your valve timing if changing the intake, they go hand in hand.
