How do I cut cross sections in V5 ?

How do I cut cross sections in V5 ?

How do I cut cross sections in V5 ?

(OP)
What is the process for cutting cross sections in Catia V5 ? Set up planes and intersect? Can I cut through whole parts or just a suface at a time? Then after cutting, what do I do with the resulting wireframe geometry? where can i put it to view it in a stack-up?

RE: How do I cut cross sections in V5 ?

hi,

in a CATPart, using planes and Intersec, you can cut the PartBody or just faces from it (using Extract).

If you want those curves in a CATDrawing you have to set the properties of the view to use 3D wireframe.

Or, in the Drawing, without any section curves, you can ask for SECTION CUT views. And make the Callout lines from your SECTION CUT fit with the planes you want.
