PTC suing Solidworks is it true?

PTC suing Solidworks is it true?

PTC suing Solidworks is it true?

(OP)
I heard a rumor about PTC threatned to sue solidworks if they did not remove the import capability for importing the newer encrypted Pro-E files. I believe they probably are based upon the no comment remarks i get from solidworks corporate employees when asked. I think PTC is mad about the parametric's of the files being imported (which makes it more benificial for us Solidworks users when working with the files) than they are about the importing of dumb solids. I would hope that Solidworks would at least till they get the legal issues resolved allows to import a dumb solid. I was just wondering how many other people are irritated about not having the import capability that was promised and advertised. Personally it has created some issues when dealing with clients that have Pro-E and the interoperability and time savings that we thought we would have.

RE: PTC suing Solidworks is it true?

You have the capability of importing dumb solids.  Export it from ProE as a STEP or IGES and bring it into SW.
