Experiences with simulation add-ons?

Experiences with simulation add-ons?

Experiences with simulation add-ons?

(OP)
Hello everybody,

does anybody has experiences with one of the different add-ons that are available for dynamic and kinematic simulations (CosmosMotion, visualNastran 4D, MotionWorks)?

Basically we are looking for a tool to design cams, but also to simulate all kinds of motions. It would be helpful if the software not just analyses existing gears but also supports finding a good solution.

Thanks for your help and have a great day

Andi

(from Germany, sorry for all kinds of mistakes)

RE: Experiences with simulation add-ons?

I have used Working Model and Cosmos Motion. The problem with Working model is you cannot assign acceleration when appling a force, so the information is of limited value. We started using Cosmos Motion, and think it works better if you are using the results for FEA.
