RE: socket welded end valves
Anyway you look at it, you still need to match the right valve to your application. If you are using schedule 80 pipe, you will need valve and fittings in the 3000 class. If you are using schedule 160 pipe, you will need valves and fittings in the 6000 class.
Hope this helps, and good luck.

1- No German manufacturer currently produces API602 SW valves as standard. They may have taken a standard DIN globe valves and cut up the flanges to offer a SW version. A DIN PN25/40 would then become a class 300 ANSI.
2- quoted rating for the valves may be the rating of the bellows (body may be class 800 to API602 design, but bellows with single wall therefore rated at lower 300 class to BS std). Most of German manufacturers make low pressure sigle wall bellows only (for Steam service), while the in Italy we manufacture mostly Bellows for petrochemical uses, thereofore class 800 min. (3 walls bellows)
3- If 300/600 design is acceptable a chep alternative would be OMB Ecolvalve or Spirax Sarco similar A3S valve
