6"-150# Ball Valve Question...

6"-150# Ball Valve Question...

6"-150# Ball Valve Question...

(OP)
OK, I know they have a short and long pattern 6"-150# ball valve. The long pattern is the STD. and the short pattern is a replacement for a gate valve, then they want a 1/4 turn shut off. I also know the long pattern comes in both 3/4 port and full port. My question is does the short pattern come in both port sizes too? I've asked the local sales rep. here and he didn't even know they had the short and long pattern valves! So any answer he came up with would be suspect, does anybody know?     ...Mark

RE: 6"-150# Ball Valve Question...

Hello 11echo,

A 6 inch full port is not available in short pattern because the OD of the ball is close to the overall face-to-face dimension of a short body.  The OD of the full port ball is around 9-3/4 inches, and the face-to-face dimension of the short body is 10-1/2 inches.  There is not enough room to fit seats, flanges, and flange bolts.
