hey,
I'm working on rolling roll simulation, I want to determine temperature and stress fields inside the roll, so I need to know how can I define the thermal contact between the 2 surfaces (roll and billet).
I really appreciate any help you can provide !

RE: conductive heat transfer simulation using abaus

Just add thermal conductance in the contact property. Look at the manuals.

Hey,
But if i couldn't have it , can the Tie constraint work in this case or i have to use another FE code 'Freefem' to determine temperature field ?
Thank you

RE: conductive heat transfer simulation using abaus

You can tie parts together. The thermal field will cross that interface without resistance.

Ok thank you
