Trim Curve no longer in Drafting?

Trim Curve no longer in Drafting?

Trim Curve no longer in Drafting?

(OP)
We moved from NX9 to NX11 Recently

I just learned Trim Curve is no longer able to be used in Drafting. Not that I used it a lot, but there had been times when it came in very handy because you could trim multiple curves to the same boundary line. Now the only way I see to trim a curve in drafting is to double click the line and trim to select. Which only will work on one line at a time.

Am I missing something here? Is there another way to trim multiple lines to the same boundary now, or did they get rid of the only way and make us have to do a job one curve at a time?

RE: Trim Curve no longer in Drafting?

You can't even customize the dialog and use the Trim Curve option
You can create a sketch in drafting now and use the quick trim and quick extend tools in the sketch to quickly edit curves on a drawing
Yes, Sometimes I wish the old trim curve and basic curve options were still available (just old habits for me)

Edit - you can add the Basic Curve dialog to drafting - Thanks Tim!

Open the old reliable Basic Curves dialog - the original Trim Curve still exists there and can be used in both Modeling and Drafting in case you don't like the "improved" Trim Curve where you have to specify the Keep and Discard areas.

I really hope they do not get rid of Basic Curves. Some years ago there was talk of it, but I think they followed the advice of users and kept it.

You mean you wouldn't want "Rapid" Curves? rofl3

For the next two months I need to do a project in CREO and it is the most painful thing I have ever needed to do.

Yes it looks like the Trim Curve still works in the Basic Curves. Good to know. Thanks for that.

I agree with jerry. I would be bummed big time if they ever got rid of the Basic Curves. I find it much easier to work with than the other curve options personally.

Thanks for the help.
