Curve Centerline

Curve Centerline

RE: Curve Centerline

NX lists the surface type as toroidal; this will make it very easy to find the centerline. First find the axis of rotation, this can be done with the "extract virtual curve" command (it looks like the axis of rotation is aligned with your absolute Y axis in this case). Create a datum plane that passes through the axis of rotation, intersect it with the face; this will result in an arc. Draw a circle centered on the axis of rotation that passes through the arc center. This will be the centerline of the face.
