Selection of flange facing
Selection of flange facing
(OP)
My question is that according which standard I can choose the valve flange facing (Raised Face (RF), Full Face (FF), Ring Joint (RTJ), Male and Female (M&F) or Tongue & Groove ). Noting that I have the values of operation temperature and pressure.
Thanks
Thanks

RE: Selection of flange facing
Start with ASME B 16.34
DHURJATI SEN
RE: Selection of flange facing
Normally 900# and above are RTJ, less than 900# = RF. This can differ though from Cient to Client.
RE: Selection of flange facing
IMO, FF flange is typical for the CI/DI material. M&F and T&G for the steel flanges may be replaced with RF or RTJ flanges.
RE: Selection of flange facing
That's up to you based on custom and practice, pressure, temperature and fluid type.
I've never seen a M/F or T/G flange in 30 years of working around hydrocarbon systems, but they seem to exist in certain niche areas. Clearly you need to make sure you buy them in pairs and use the right gaskets.
