Error when installing Abaqus 2017

Error when installing Abaqus 2017

Error when installing Abaqus 2017

(OP)
Hi all,

When I attempt to install Abaqus 2017 on Linux, either on my local work machine (which runs Arch Linux) or on our SuperComputing Cluster here at my University, I get the following error:

"The installation of {component} has failed. Do you want to launch it again, continue, or abort the global installation?"

For all components, it gives me this error.

When I select "show technical details", I see the following information:

Action LaunchMediaAction from feature CODE\linux_a64\AM_SIM_Abaqus_Extend.media failed.
Action ID: Launch_Media_DOC_SIM_EstPrd.AllOS_812
Private ID: 4c61756e63685f4d656469615f444f435f53494d5f4573745072642e416c6c4f535f383132

Error code: Type: ERROR, Error: 4, Owner: 32e

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I have found nothing online about it.

Thanks.

RE: Error when installing Abaqus 2017

Talk to Simulia tech support.

RE: Error when installing Abaqus 2017

I think Arch Linux is not supported, just SuSE and Red Hat. But you should still try to talk to the support, maybe they know an inofficial workaround.

The SuperComputing Cluster runs CentOS 7.2 (I should have mentioned this, my mistake), and it too gives me the same error.

Apparently there is no support for the educational license, so I'm not sure what to do.

Thanks
