Open Building Fascia Wind with "Steep" Slope

Open Building Fascia Wind with "Steep" Slope

(OP)
Hey everyone,

I'm looking a an open pavilion design with a saw tooth roof with a slope of 4:12 for each "tooth". Most canopies I've done have all been 0.25:12 to 1:12 slope and I've always used parapet pressure for the fascia loads. However I just noticed in ASCE 7-10 27.4.3 it says this only applies for slopes less than 5°. Since I'm over that I'm interested in the opinion on how to treat these.

Two questions:

1. How do you treat this? Solid sign? or compare with parapet pressure and use worst case? (this is my approach for now)
2. Can anyone point me to the research or background to this?

Thanks!
