looking for an old picture of a failed H-Pile installation
looking for an old picture of a failed H-Pile installation
(OP)
I remember having seen a picture where a steel H-Pile was being driven, but when it encountered a very hard soil/rock layer, it just bent (rather than going through the layer) but the contractor just kept hammering it. The tip of the pile came back up through the surface, and unfortunately the location where this happened was right under some poor guy's car! Apparently they didn't notice until this car was jacked up like 3 or 4 feet or something. I've tried searching google images with all the key words I can think of, to no avail. Has anyone here seen this same photo of the guy's car lifted up? If so, can you share a link to where I can find it? Thanks!

I'm glad you found that photo! I knew what photo the OP was asking for, but couldn't find it.
