C3D8R element question from an ANSYS user
(OP)
I have occasion to be involved in some work with a code used by another firm. They referred to the C3D8R element, but in the context of discussing their use of Solidworks Simulation. As I understand it, though, the C3D8R element is an ABAQUS reduced-integration element. Is SS just running an "ABAQUS light" under its hood? They are both Dassault products, so that seems logical. Is the SS C3D8R element a reduced-integration brick?
