NX11 - Can an Attribute read a sketch dimension?

NX11 - Can an Attribute read a sketch dimension?

(OP)
I have a couple bent brackets I added to the reuse library. Is it possible to have their stock-size attribute automatically update to whatever sizes the designers change the brackets dimensions to?

So if I have a bracket that is 5/16" X 29mm X 250mm, and a designer double clicks on it and changes the sketch dimension to add another 20mm to it, can we attach the attribute to the sketch dimensions so the socksize will automatically update to 5/16" X 29mm X 270mm?

To my knowledge this cant be done, but knowing how other things work, I can see the possibility that it can be done. In Drafting there is text in the title blocks that use code to attach to attributes. It makes me wonder if its possible to go the other way.

RE: NX11 - Can an Attribute read a sketch dimension?

The attribute system is closely tied to the expression system (in the expression editor, take a look at the "attribute expression" filter). Yes, an attribute could be set up to read an expression value.
