Attaching to 1 1 /8" OSB Band

I need to attach a shed roof band (18' span rafters) to an 1 1/8" OSB rim board for an existing 12" i-joist system. The tables from Boise and TrussJoist allow attachment of 1/2"Ø lag screws into the band.
How can there be enough bite to allow this? I am skeptical attaching anything to these crappy bands but certainly more so with a lag screw.
What a re y'alls experience with this? I think I will use thru bolts as a minimum.

RE: Attaching to 1 1 /8" OSB Band

Make sure you provide some sort of tension device at the ends and attach to padded i-joist webs. I think simpson Dtt2z clips apply to this situation, and they should have some literature on the topic.

I concur on the lags... have you seen a rim after it gets wet!?! Nails and bolts are my preference.

Thanks Eric. Yea, those bands basically dissolve in water. Thats is part of my disdain for I-joist floor systems.
