NX11 - Read Only Messages

NX11 - Read Only Messages

(OP)
Im not sure if this is an NX question or not.

We have our checkers marked as read only for certain drives so they can check work but not make changes on their own because many of them are good older designers but dont know the computer too well.

In the past, they would get the msg popup warning them the parts are read only when they opened the file and maybe the first time they tried to do something like measure a distance. However, since we upgraded to NX11, they are getting this msg box every time they measure a distance instead of just the first time. As they are doing a lot of measuring, I can only understand some of their frustration in having to constantly click OK to these pop-ups in the middle of their screen.

Is this a setting in NX11 that changes how often this msg box pops up? For now I will continue looking, but I was hoping someone would already know this answer.

In case this helps, it turns out this pop-up happens every time they use Measure - Projected Distance. If they use regular Distance or Length, it doesnt happen. Unfortunately they seem to prefer Projected Distance. lol

RE: NX11 - Read Only Messages

Submit an ER to Siemens on this.
They have to start thinking on how the software is used.

- I submitted an ER on some warning message which pops up when doing part cleanup, one message per part file, and if the assy has, say 200 piece parts, then ...???

Tomas
