ReUse Library

ReUse Library

(OP)
The ReUse Library is really confusing to me. Can someone please explain in some details how to add something from the Reusable Object Library and have it land in the orientation you expect it to?

I created a bent brack with a sketch and extruded it. I added the sketch and the extrusion to the library. When I try to bring it in to another file, it always ends up in some flipped orientation from what I would expect to to be. It doesnt seemt o matter whether I use dynamic, three planes or whatever. Nothing makes sense on how it works. The instructions at the bottom of the screen dont even seem to be that informative.

Also, I noticed when I bring in one of their examples like the rib for instance, it gives a tiny preview next to the curse of the orientation the part will be placed. My bracket doesnt do that. How do I set that up?

Small Update

I find that when i use the example parts in the ReUse Library, the box that pops up says "Reuse Paste" at the top. When I try to add mine, it says "Paste Feature"

I have no idea at this time why they are different but thought I would share this in case someone else recognizes it and knows what is wrong with what I am doing.

PS
I dont think I mentioned it but I am on NX11

RE: ReUse Library

What version of NX11 are you running? Are you running teamcenter? Only reason I ask is because we had issues with the Reuse library and it was fixed in Version NX11.0.2 MP1

Thanks for replying SDETERS

Doesnt that figure. lol My NX Version Information shows NX 11.0.1.11

Were you having similar problems. If I add one of their examples, it works perfect. If I add one I placed in the library, it always flips it weird.

RE: ReUse Library

We had NX completely locking up on us. SOA error. Could not save, could not do nothing. I do not remember the System log errors, sorry. I do not know if this was a teamcenter and NX issue or just A NX reuse library issue. I would definitely try to upgrade to what I mention above or the latest and try again, if you can.

The bad news is that we are stuck using this version until General Motors supplies us with the new version.
The good news is that I.T. doesnt expect it to be too long because there seems to be so many issues.

To be honest though, I am not sure how much it will fix. I think it will help with the part flipping 90 degrees from where I expect it to be. But the fact that the examples say Resuse Paste when placing them and mine says Paste Feature, kind of says I am not doing something right in placing it in the library. Unfortunately I cant find anything on this in my searches.

Well, here is hoping for the best and if nothing else, you gave me reason to hope for the future. lol
