DVM Test Notched Bar Impact Value
DVM Test Notched Bar Impact Value
(OP)
Hello
I have a drawing of a shaft which nominates mechanical material properties as:
Yeild = 460 MPa min
tensile = 690-840 MPa
breaking elongation = 15%
notched bar impact value - DVM test = 38 Joules
It is the DVM test which is confusing me: I cannot find any information on where/how/possibility of converting a DVM test to a more standard Izod or Charpy test.
Any information is greatly welcome.
Drawing was published in 1979, if that helps.

RE: DVM Test Notched Bar Impact Value
The dimensions of the specimen are 55 * 10 * 10 mm.
The notch ist 3 mm deep and has a U-form with a radius of 1 mm. Cross-section is 0,7 cm2.
The specimen is comparable to an ISO-U-specimen defined in ISO 148-1:2016 with the difference that ISO-U has a notch depth of 5 mm (cross-section 0,5 cm2)

Great information for me to follow up!
