Remember constraints
Remember constraints
(OP)
Hi all,
Is there, or has there ever been a setting (apart from the one relating to reusable components in the customer defaults) that relates to Remembered Assembly Constraints so that they can be turned off when adding parts that have had them saved so someone can choose to use their own constraints?
Cheers
Si.

RE: Remember constraints
That said, no i am not aware of such an option to "suppress the remembered constraints dialog for this instance".
( you can probably , in the session, delete the remembered constraints, add these components using "new" constraints, and then re-load that component before saving the assy.
-But that is hardly a method i would dare to propose to all users...)

RE: Remember constraints
If I add a component in NX11 that has remembered constraints saved, and I choose the positioning method as being either Absolute or Move then the component is added without the remembered constraints dialog box popping up, its just added to the assembly without any constraints. If I choose to add by constraints then the remembered constraints dialog appears and I can define the constraints that have been saved in the part that's being added.
If I add the same component in NX12, no matter what positioning method I choose in order to add the part, the remembered constraints dialog opens automatically whether I want it or not. It's really annoying.
Many thanks
Si

RE: Remember constraints
( I have not tried this in NX12 before.)
-It seems only another OK to pass that dialog, if we compare the number of clicks/OK's between NX11 and NX12, i think NX12 has fewer in total when adding components, despite the secondary dialog on remembered constraints. Or ?
