Are there any regulatory requirements for the choice of colours for conductors within a piece of electronic equipment.

RE: Colours of conductors

Hi,
I did a quick search on our Specs database and although I haven't found a MIL Spec (although there probably is one) it turned up IEC 60673 or its equivalent BS6156(1981).

This deals with all aspects of selection and testing of equipment wire for internal wiring of telecomms and data processing equipment racks, etc., and includes a section on preferred colours.

Hope that helps!
