Dear all

I face problem in calculating some parameters for anchors in base plate located on existing cross beam and no any concrete else except the concrete beam. how can i calculate parameters as Ac,N and Ac0,N by(ETA) , Kindly advise you can find the baseplate in the attached file. Thanks all

Best regards
Mohamed Maher

RE: Concrete Cone Faliuer

I'd start by assuming that all you've got for concrete is a 300 x 300 base section. Then you should be able to use a simplified hand calc or software such as Hilti Profis. If capacity is insufficient, you might consider rotating your base plate 45 degrees to create a more favorable condition for the anchors.

I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.

Your assumption is correct I have base plate 300 x 300 and rested on two crossed concrete beams which are extended as per previous

attached file , and i tried to use hilti but problem that i can't achieve inclined edge distance which is 64 mm as per attached.

as a result consultant refuse the solution and needs manual calculation which is complicated for some parameters as ACN AND A0CN.. Can you please advice regarding these parameters

RE: Concrete Cone Faliuer

My recommendation was not that you have a 300 x 300 base plate but, rather, that you should consider it a 300 x 300 pedestal. That would be conservative and keeps things simple. If you want to do a fancier analysis, it's just going to be a painful thing, no doubt about it. You'd consider the code defined failure frustum at 1:1.5 and lop off the sides where you have no material.

If I make it as Pedestal it will be very unsafe so it looks that i have to make it manual :(
