Sheathing nail pattern

Sheathing nail pattern

(OP)
When calling out nail patterns for sheathing, do you default to a note, or provide a sketch? Also do you change it if the long direction requires less than your short side of the building?

Im not doing the drawings, the ARCH is, he is also stamping. Still want to get the correct detail or note on the drawings.

RE: Sheathing nail pattern

I have a standard table that includes the required patterns, nails types, blocking, ect. for each sheathing application. For wall sheathing I provide details/sketches because I usually design my wall sheathing to resist shear and uplift and I feel this needs to be very clear with patterns.I guess it just depend on how clear you want to make your nail patterns....
