Diagonal strap bracing for ligth frame construction

Hi:

Does anyone have experience with diagonal strap bracing instalation in ligth gage steel framing construction?
I'm trying to find a method to get the proper tension of straps over 80 mm width. We have plenty experience with traditional tensioners but i couldn´t find any type of tensioner for tensioners over 40 mm. Gettin the proper tension is very important because we are in a high seismic area developing a mid rise condominium.

Jonathan,

RE: Diagonal strap bracing for ligth frame construction

The only system I've used for mid rise cold formed steel construction is a "boot" system by The Steel Network (steelnetwork.com). The strap braces get fastened to the u-shaped steel piece that is sandwiched between the boots below and above the given floor.

They have a software to help you design the bracing system. They also provide tables and capacity charts were you can calculator things by hand as well.

I think Simpson sells them. A lot of the people who make light gauge studs also sell straps.

In the 80's, Inryco had a similar system to what stinman describes..

Thanks Stinman86:

That boot seems to comly with our requirements. I'm gonna try that in our manufacturing line.

Jonathan,
