Cantilever Steel Canopy

Cantilever Steel Canopy

Cantilever Steel Canopy

(OP)
I need to design a cantilever steel canopy , span 8.48m and width 2.2m

Plese help me to calculate wind load as per ASCE 7 , I calculated qh as 0.932kN/m2 .

How to choose wind pressure coefficients as per ASCE .??which figure should I refer for coefficients?

Please help , I am designing canopy for the first time .

Thanks

RE: Cantilever Steel Canopy

Please provide a sketch and the version of ASCE 7 to which you must comply.

RE: Cantilever Steel Canopy

For the roof uplifts/downloads....see Figures 27.4-4 & 27.4-7 (for MWFRS) and Fig. 30.8-1 (for C&C) in ASCE 7-10.

At first glance it may appear these are for roofs with a slope.....but you can use them for when the slope is 0.

RE: Cantilever Steel Canopy

You have to look at the angle the canopy makes with the building. We used 6-11B because our canopy was almost flat coming off the building.
