transportation Basket

(OP)
Hello All,

I would need design of basket which can carry 28 ton weight. size of basket need to be 13mtr(length) x 1.6mtr(breadth) x 1.5 mtr(height). It is basically used for carrying raw material for transportation & storage purpose. forklift pocket & eye pad required.
can any one pls help me how to design this. which beam should i go for.

Thanks,

RE: transportation Basket

I think you will need to engage the services of a qualified local (Structural) engineer who can design this for you.

Just top Guideline will also work for me.

RE: transportation Basket

I do not think anyone here is going to design this for you (I certainly won't).

If you want help, you should propose a design where you have calculated the applied loads, member sizes, etc. yourself, which others may comment on if you have specific concerns or questions on aspects of the design.

In all honesty, it sounds to me as though you do not know how to approach this; hence you should hire an engineer to design it for you.

RE: transportation Basket

RandomTaskkk is right.

I'll add that if you want the basket to be handled by a crane (in addition to the apparent forklift) -- in the US we would design it per the ASME-BTH-1 design guide in addition to your typical (steel?) material code.

You may also have legally required design limits prescribed by some sort of worker safety code (US OSHA, etc).
