Grout cube testing for p.t. grouted tendons

Grout cube testing for p.t. grouted tendons

Grout cube testing for p.t. grouted tendons

(OP)
1. The following questions apply to grout used for grouting bonded post-tensioned tendons. I am just in the planning stage of laying out an inspection and testing program.
I would be most interested in answers from people who have done this type of work.

2. When should the grout cubes be cast - at the beginning of each batch? Also at any other times?

3. How many grout cubes should be cast for testing, per grout batch?

4. Are the storage requirements the same as for concrete cylinders? i.e. the first 24 hours store in temperature controlled enclosure on site, then take to lab and cure till testing? Or are there different requirements?

5. At what times should the grout cubes be tested? 7 days and 28 days?

6. How many cubes should be tested at each time? 2 at 7 days and 2 at 28 days, or should more be tested at each of these times?

The project is in Ontario. Cold weather provisions would therefore apply (and hot weather in summer), so any additional testing because of weather would also apply.

Thanks
