Floor slab heavy duty

Floor slab heavy duty

(OP)
Hi guys

I was wondering if it is possible to build reinforced floor slab 30 cm resting on head pile whereas the Slab reinforcement is not tied with head pile cage!

Many thanks

RE: Floor slab heavy duty

Depends how much of a stickler you want to be for code clauses requiring concentrated flexural reinforcement through/near columns. This would also negatively impact punching shear. All that said, most anything can be managed with enough $$$ and attention to detail. I've seen some renovation projects where slabs were replaced around existing columns and the pass through bars were questionable/non-existent.

I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.
