Euler Buckling Load in Etabs

Euler Buckling Load in Etabs

Euler Buckling Load in Etabs

(OP)
I have Building with 3 story floor.
I have RC column that extends from story 1 to story 3 = 6m.on the story 2 no brace by any beams.
When I run design the report said the load exceeded the Euler Load. But Follow Euler buckling load By manual Pcr=((pi^2)EI/(kl)^2) it show that Pu<Pcr.
How to solve this in Etabs ?
It is unsupported length member?
Thank for your reply.

RE: Euler Buckling Load in Etabs

What I are you using? If your column is cracked, your I will be less than Ig

Thank you for reply.
I am using Etabs. I reduce it from Ig to 0.7Ig as per ACI318.
But I wonder why It fail of Euler Load. Bottom is column and top brace by Beam and column. And as per aci318 nonsway frame max k=1, it should be pass Euler Load. Why in Etabs k>1? Just 3 stories and no wind effects.

The column is not 3 stories. It's 2 stories, i.e. from Level 1 to Level 3. It is unbraced only at Level 2.
