What is Europian standard for piping equivalent to ASME B36.10M

What is Europian standard for piping equivalent to ASME B36.10M

What is Europian standard for piping equivalent to ASME B36.10M

(OP)
Hi, I am looking for European standard for seamless and welded piping dimensions for normal and high pressure application something similar to ASME B36.10M. Any one can help? It should be DIN EIN xxx something.

RE: What is Europian standard for piping equivalent to ASME B36.10M

To what original code?

Now that there is only one line pipe code ISO 3183 / API 5L there is only one size code AFAIK.

However different pipe or tubing should then reference something about dimensions if it's any different.

The M bit stands for metric so should be OK.

Otherwise try EN 10220 https://www.pipingonline.com/pipes/european_pipe_s...

https://www.en-standard.eu/csn-en-10220-seamless-a...

I think the wording or semantics of the OP are a bit off. He's talking standard, not code (or Code for those on the other side of the Great Ocean).
ISO 1127 is the current standard, which has superseded the former DIN 2462 (which I think is the one the OP referenced).

/edt @ LI; EN 10220 is a product standard, whereas ISO 1127 seems to be more on it's own (i.e. general) I believe.

Thanks for reply. I guess it is EN 13480

RE: What is Europian standard for piping equivalent to ASME B36.10M

En 13480 is , I beleive the design standard, not he standard detailing the dimension and standard thicknesses of pipe and fittings.

Somewhere within 13480 it should tell you which standard it uses.

EN 10253 is the fittings standard which is arranged more like B36.10 which is simply a dimensional standard.

No, refer to my previous reply.

Exactly. Refer to EN ISO 1127 (see my 1st reply). For the material standard of pipe n tube, you can also refer to e.g. EN 10216-5 (smls aust SS) or 10217-7 (wldd aust SS), but theyre not similar to B36.1x, since they specify chemical, mechanical etc requirements. EN ISO 1127 is the most approximate EN equivalent for B36.1x.

I am looking for European standard for forged welded or threaded steel fitting such as threadolets. any one can help? Specifically I look for 80 bar 2 inch threadolet dimensions

Threadolets, as being integrally reinforced branch fittings, are (afaik) only defined in MSS SP-79. Not in any EN standard. An EN standard covering branch fittings with threads is e.g. EN 10241.

Thats something you need to engineer/design, as per your design code. Whats the code of construction?

Design standard is en 13480-3 and I look for a 2 inch branch connection to 6 inch pipe to be used for pressure sensor instrument. Branch connection should be female threaded to accept pressure sensor. Since design pressure is 120 bar code requires welded connection with reinforcement pad.

RE: What is Europian standard for piping equivalent to ASME B36.10M

Here’s the issue with EN 13480; although at some points it’s more precise and clear than B31.3, the code’s organization when it comes to materials is far from market competitive. You’ll need to use an EN half coupling, but it’s not as easy to use or find as an B16.11 coupling. I’d go for a simple MSS SP 79 olet fitting, and discuss it with your nobo if it should lead to problems.

I have used EN material for all the piping and need to select EN half coupling but as you said it is difficult and I can't find right standard.
