Adding Purge commnad to Windows Explorer
Adding Purge commnad to Windows Explorer
(OP)
How "Explorer" can be configured in Windows 2000 to purge directories which contains pro/e files? I'm using pro/e 2001.
Thanks!

RE: Adding Purge commnad to Windows Explorer
>View>Options>Select 'File Types" tab.
Select 'File Folder' from the list.
(In the 'Actions' box 'find' should appear.
Select the 'New' button and 'New Action'box appears.
Type 'Purge' in the action line, then select the 'Browse' button.
Go through the directories and find the load point of Pro Engineer.
Then find the 'bin' folder. Click on the 'purge' file.
The line under 'Application used to perform action:' should read something like:
"C:\Program Files\proe20\bin\purge.bat".
Ad a space and asterick to the end of that line, it should now look like:
"C:\Program Files\proe20\bin\purge.bat" *
>Done>ok>ok>
In order to use the purge command, select a folder in explorer (typically a folder
that has several copies of pro-e files. With the folder highlighted click with your right mouse
button and purge should appear in the list of options.
I found a purge utility that will recursively purge your directories and delete the crap files by rick-clicking on a folder in explorer. Here is what you gotta do:
1)extract the files to your [loadpoint]\bin directory
2) in explorer, go in option and edit the file type "file folder" and add an action called whatever (i.e. Purge or Rec_Purge) that points to the file repurge.bat.

Better than that: go to www.spekan.com and download their Purge Utility. You gonna like it!
