thermal simulation with assembly

thermal simulation with assembly

(OP)
Hi there,

I want to make a thermal simulation with the FEM module of Catia. I usually make structural but never with assemblies.

The case is simple (I believe). Just an aluminum bar completely surrounded by a steel cover. I want to see how they expand and how the steel limits the aluminum when it is heated up. This simulates a carbon fiber mould we put in the oven.

The problems are in the contacts between the faces. Maybe it is not as simple as I thought.

I choose "Contact Connection Property" and mark the "No sliding" option. This is the only way I get no errors during the simulation.

Choosing clearance 0mm and a friction ratio is not working either

How can I do this simulation?

thanks in advance
