Ultrafilteration in the presence of heavy metals

Ultrafilteration in the presence of heavy metals

(OP)
I am looking for suggestions for an electrocoat line.  The paint has 15% emulsion solids, 3% butyl cellusol, and 82% water.  Unfortunatly it also has high levels of zinc, nickel, and chrome.  The exclusion is in the 0.05micon range and static ultrafilter membrane of that size do not last long in my system.  I am looking for suggestions on how to make my membranes last longer or what ultrafilter systems may be more resistant to fouling.  Given the high level of metals in the system, I also have problems with my prefilters clogging so any help there would also be appreciated.

You may try Osmonics Waste Wizard... It's a self-cleaning rotating membrane mechanism with Ultra-filtration capabilities.  Not sure if it will work, but worth a look.
