Trim two objects

Hi folks,
Just curious to know the trim option to trim the two parts mutually.I tried with trim sheet with the option "allow target edges as tool objects".

RE: Trim two objects

Hi, You need to clarify what it is in detail that you are attempting to do.

Tomas

Hi Toost,
I want to trim two surfaces that intersect each other mutually so that I can retain either or surfaces out of the two.

RE: Trim two objects

Try using Trim Body.

Hi John,
Tried trim body. But got the same result.Any other ideas? Basically I want to trim both the surfaces mutually as in CATIA.I should be able to use both the surfaces as trimming tools mutually.

RE: Trim two objects

Perhaps it's time to take a class, or at least read the help files.

RE: Trim two objects

i Agree with John. Take a class. You will see that there are other things that are different too, and might need some attention.

anyhow, Trim body and Trim sheet will not trim 2 sheets to a common edge, They will trim one object at a time.
( Trim body can trim multiple objects to a common target in one feature.)
the "Trim and Extend" with the suboption "make corner" will trim 2 sheet to a common edge.
The "Combine" feature will trim multiple sheets into a single sheet body producing multiple new edges.

Tomas

Hi folks,
This is the answer I expected that it is not possible to trim two surfaces simultaneously as in CATIA.
P. S: I don't need a class now.

RE: Trim two objects

Try reading my last post once more. Slowly.

Hi Folks,
Sorry for the misunderstanding. Trim and extend with corner did the trick. Thanks a ton for your clarification and patience.Hopefully I will improve my "attention to details ".

RE: Trim two objects

It would also help to include the version of NX you're using since some commands are new, renamed or unavailable in certain versions.
