ASME B16.48 Spectacle blind - Thickness for RF vs RTJ

ASME B16.48 Spectacle blind - Thickness for RF vs RTJ

(OP)
This post was earlier made under ANSI (standards) code issues. I have flagged the entry for removal from there.

I am looking at a 4" class 1500 ASME B16.48 thickness dimensions for a RF and RTJ.

RF : 22 mm, is the thickness excluding the facing
Female RTJ : 48 mm

RTJ groove depth : 8 mm

Should not the min thickness for pressure be the same with any of the facings?

If the RTJ groove depth is deducted, the min thk corresponds to 32 and not 22.

Is not the line blank min thickness determined per ASME B31.3 para 304.5.3?

Agree the section is for unlisted components which is not per para 303.

Will the RTJ facing for the line blind then require a different consideration, giving the additional thickness.
