Setting of MCS in Nx CAM

Setting of MCS in Nx CAM

Setting of MCS in Nx CAM

(OP)
In the procedure for setting the MCS to the block centre of the geometry, Is there a easier way of setting it?
As for now i am sketching curves for getting the centre of the block (like constructing diagonals from the block edges) and then i am placing the MCS at the intersecting point.

Santhosh

RE: Setting of MCS in Nx CAM

Not that I know of. We either create the lines like you're doing or else: snap to the center of a side, copy the coordinate, snap to the adjacent side and paste the first coordinate into the appropriate axis. This puts the MCS in the right spot, but makes it hard to measure to the MCS later. The whole thing is remarkably non-intuitive.

What version of NX are you using.

I set the WCS to where I want the MCS

In NX 10 you can set the origin to between to points. Pick the diagonal points of the block and it will be in the center.
Then set the MCS to the orientation of the WCS.

Should not take longer that 20 seconds and no need to create extra curves.

Thanks john2025 and joycejo for your replies.
Will check out for the option origin between points. But it would have been nice if we have an option to make it move to the centroid if we select a face of the body.
