Steel truss
Steel truss
(OP)
Hi all, I have some questions regarding steel trusses.
1. What is the minimum depth of the steel truss we can use? 1m min? would 650mm space economical for using truss?
2. Is it stated in any code that the angle for diagonal member of truss shall be 60deg min?
Thank you.

North american steel joist manufacturers will make 200 mm deep joists. What's economical will depend on your span and loading. Economical depths are probably in the range of L/12 to L/24 depending on your application.
Not that I am aware of. Again, it's a matter of economy. Webbing that is very shallow will start to get inefficient. Again, mass produced steel joists often have their primary diagonal webbing at less than 45 degrees to the horizontal.
I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.
