NX11-SKETCH-SCALE CURVE is not visible/existing as a constraint/feature
(OP)
Hi All
When you make a sketch in NX 11 and you scale it with SCALE CURVE in the sketcher it will work but you cannot find it back as a constraint or a feature.
Is it a one-time action?
Is there something I am missing?
I want to scale a spline in the sketcher with the function SCALE CURVE and want it to control it with a user defined expression and part family.
Is there another option possible?
Thanks in advance
Jeroen

RE: NX11-SKETCH-SCALE CURVE is not visible/existing as a constraint/feature
the one in the sketcher is, I think, a type of "direct modeling" / "Synchronous modeling" command which isn't driven by a variable.
the "Scale curve" outside the sketcher is driven by a variable if "associative" is on...
Also, you CAN scale curves in the sketcher by a dimension , IF ...
( i wonder if the guy who wrote the code is proud of it...)
1) Create the curves in the sketch
2) Part navigator : RMB : New Sketch Group - Scalable
(and select the curve -s)
The selected curves will now be an "inactive group" in the sketch.
3) create a driving dimension on the spline ( the group)
"room for enhancements"...

RE: NX11-SKETCH-SCALE CURVE is not visible/existing as a constraint/feature
I tried it and I cannot get it driven by a dimension.
I followed instruction in the link:
https://community.plm.automation.siemens.com/t5/tk...
But it doesnot seem to work with me.
Do you have a working example model for me?
Thanks
RE: NX11-SKETCH-SCALE CURVE is not visible/existing as a constraint/feature
1) You have the dimension p11 which scales the group.
2) in the part navigator, activate the Group, then p10 becomes visible and can change the notch.
Not sure that this was really logical... ?
