RAM SS Shearwalls on Steel Podium

RAM SS Shearwalls on Steel Podium

(OP)
I've got a project with cold formed strap based shearwalls (6 Floors) over a steel podium, and I'm running into issues where I have significant force redistribution in my strap based shearwall panels at the level above the steel podium, likely due to varying stiffness of supporting elements below as not all walls are along column line and spans vary. Increasing stiffness of steel podium helps a little, but strap brace panels still end up overstressed in some locations while adjacent segments have little load. Has anyone else encountered this, any suggestions on adjustments that could be made to model/analysis procedure to provide more uniform force distribution between panel segments. (Concrete on metal deck, so rigid diaphragms at all floors).

We have some general guidance here: https://communities.bentley.com/products/ram-staad...
It sounds like a relative stiffness issue in your case. You can always adjust the wall stiffness in the program, or even simulate the walls using some sort of frames, but that's not simple. Changing the diaphragm types above the podium might also work.
