Quickpick interaction with mouse scroll

Quickpick interaction with mouse scroll

Quickpick interaction with mouse scroll

(OP)
I recently switched companies, and I would love to keep my user interface more or less the same. I'm on 9.0.2.5 right now.

At my old company, when I brought up the Quick Pick menu, I could keep my mouse pointer in exactly the same location and use the scroll wheel to cycle through the features available for selection. Each mouse wheel 'click' descends the selected feature by 1 row.

Now, the scroll wheel will zoom in/out if I hold my mouse in the same place. If I want to scroll through the features in the quick pick menu, I have to move my mouse on top of the Quick Pick menu... and at that scrolls the whole window (rather than moving the selected line down).

Any advice? Thanks!

RE: Quickpick interaction with mouse scroll

The settings for your mouse (cursor) preferences are in the selection preferences menu...
I don't see any option in there to change to what you would like.

Maybe there are some options to change it in the settings of your mouse itself?

RE: Quickpick interaction with mouse scroll

I think that this was a change that was done to the quickpick dialog in some NX version..
You say that you are on NX9.x now, what was the previous version ?

IF (?) it is possible to change the behaviour, i imagine that it would be done by a system environment variable.
- Things like that have happened before in NX history.

I'm still on NX9 and the Quick Pick scrolls for me.

RE: Quickpick interaction with mouse scroll

Are you on windows 10? There is a setting in windows ten and scrolling?

RE: Quickpick interaction with mouse scroll

I tried this in NX6 and NX12, the oldest ( and the newest) i have installed.
Both allows scroll without moving the cursor.
Left click selects the highlighted line.

The change i remember must be older than NX6.
There was one version where left click not selected but "scrolled" to the next line.

Hi Toost,

Yes, this is the behavior that I'm after. I don't suppose you know if there are any settings for it?

Thanks

RE: Quickpick interaction with mouse scroll

I don't think it's an NX issue, but something from either Windows or the mouse driver.

If you're on Windows 10, try turning off "Scroll inactive windows when I hover over them" (see pic where to find that).
