Where is The Button "Part Numbers"

Where is the button to turn off the Part Numbers that are in Model space around individual parts in an assembly? Been there before but forgot.

RE: Where is The Button "Part Numbers"

Should be under Display Preferences or Settings.

Thanks Guys! I wish it was in the assembly tree. I just feel That this has no right to be in that Dialog. I am going to make a button to turn that off when I get files with that information in Model space. I guess I setting myself up to forget again.

The "show object names" option applies to any named object, not just components. It might not currently be in the best place, but moving it to the assembly tree wouldn't make sense, IMO.

Below is an attachment of an assembly with parts with the name of "BREP_28" Where is NX picking this up from. It's not in assembly tree. I see it nowhere, even picking on the parts. Can I change this to a part number or material property or any other field in properties.

RE: Where is The Button "Part Numbers"

Those are names of objects in one or more of your files. I'd guess they are names of the body objects; you can check by selecting a body and going to menu -> edit -> properties -> general. If there is a name entered here, it will show up when you turn on the "show object names" option.

RE: Where is The Button "Part Numbers"

Brep is ( normally ) short for "Boundary Representation."
Brep is another term for solid body, a solid body can be of different types of definitions , but the Brep type is today the common.
( Brep/solid modeling is something one can doctorate at, the above is the level i know... smile

If i guess you have in that assembly also some imported data from Step or JT or ....
Those solids probably have the name "Brep_28" assigned.
- Look in the Part Navigator rather than the Assembly navigator.

Tomas
