Pushover using fiber hinge

Pushover using fiber hinge

Pushover using fiber hinge

(OP)
Hi all.. I try to perform pushover analysis using fiber hinge..the model is single column cantilever with fiber hinge on bottom side near fixed support..
The pushover load case is defined using nonlinear P-delta with displacement control until 1 meter..
The result is shown as follow:

Its quite strange having straight line at the end of plastic zone..
Is anyone can help me to fix this result? I hope the tail is going to drop to zero..

Thanks..

RE: Pushover using fiber hinge

If I understand you correctly, you have a cantilever and you are looking for pushover analysis for the base... I would not consider plastic analysis for a structure with no redundancy... there is little to be gained... one hinge, and you are done. I would use an elastic analysis only and keep it in the elastic range.
