Equivalent length deviation standard for valves
Equivalent length deviation standard for valves
(OP)
Greetings,
I am trying to conduct an assessment of the equivalent length (or resistance constant) of valve types as part of an assignment. However, I can only find reference values (both in manufacturer sheets and textbooks) without a single mention of expected deviations.
Are there any standards that I could use to do comparative analysis of my results?
Thank you

Most equivalent lengths are just approximations and work people did decades ago but the internal workings of different valves from different vendors will make a difference.
For a full bore gate valve or ball valve this should be the same as pipe, but reduced bore, plug valves, globe valves etc just do a search and compare the lengths from each source and see if you get some sort of agreement.
Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.
