Hello,

I'm writing to see if anyone has dealt with a plan check review dealing with 1810A.3.1.5.1 Helical Pile Seismic Requirements.

I specifically curious about the comment of "In addition, all helical pile materials that are subject to corrosion shall include at least 1/16-inch corrosion allowance"

What exactly is meant by the comment "subject to corrosion"

I can think of a few interpretations:
1) exposed to corrosive soils w/ no galvanization
2) any exposure to corrosive soils
3) any non-galvanized helical pile
4) anything in any soil that may be exposed to ground water
