NX drill to curvy surface without gouge

(OP)
I've tested the Plunge toolpath, which looks pretty great but not quite what i'm looking for.
I need to control X/Y positions and a straight drilling method will work better for my application.
problem is I'm having trouble driving hole_making/drill off either circles above the part or drill-bottom points on crazy solid model.
keep in mind some surfaces are near vertical so just drilling to the point will gouge.

1. what toolpath combo should i use
2. what feature geometry

thanks in advance
