Controling SW Explorer using API

Controling SW Explorer using API

Controling SW Explorer using API

(OP)
Solidworks site does not provide any API help for Solidworks Explorer (I assume it is third party).  Has anyone tried to control it in any way?

It would be great if you could, as it would allow altering configuration specific custom properties without the hassle of loading the whole file.

We have loaded files invisibly to edit configuration specific custom properties, but for large models this is extremely slow.

Any thoughts would be appreciated?  If this is not acheivable, is their enough interest to push for this ability?

Cheers
Craig

See thread titled "changing custom config. specific" for a possible answer to your question

RE: Controling SW Explorer using API

you seem to have a problem here. I could help you but I am too busy. I have done this but it is difficult. Oh and say hi to Steve.

RE: Controling SW Explorer using API

SW explorer should be exposed with the reference to
sdm.dll (shown as sdm 1.0 Type library).
You can see example of it being used in bimtap preview project http://solidworks.cad.de/apitut_kap06.htm
